Professional Development Program in University Teaching and Learning

Introduction

In line with King Faisal University’s commitment to achieving academic excellence and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, the Professional Development Program in University Teaching and Learning was launched as one of the key initiatives derived from the Strategic Project (2-3): Professional Development for Faculty Members, with the aim of supporting the achievement of the university’s third strategic objective.

 

The program focuses on developing the professional capacities of faculty members and promoting the adoption of innovative teaching approaches aligned with global best practices in higher education. It aims to foster an engaging and progressive learning environment that keeps pace with contemporary academic trends.

Main Tracks of the Program

Track 1: Fundamental Skills in University Teaching and Learning

  • Enhancing knowledge of effective academic teaching methods and strategies.
  • Integrating modern technologies in teaching.

 

Track 2: Advanced Skills in University Teaching and Learning

  • Developing competencies in academic accreditation.
  • Designing and assessing learning outcomes.
  • Preparing and implementing continuous improvement plans.

Certification Requirements

Faculty members will be awarded a professional certificate accredited by the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance upon completing at least 80% of the programs within any designated track. This certification reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing professional skills and promoting quality standards in education.
